The East Asian Collection, an exhibition of Japanese and Chinese artefacts from the 19th Century, is now on display at Bewdley Museum.
The exhibition will include items from the museum’s collection of Japanese ivories, hanging scrolls, Chinese snuff bottles and jade carvings. Items were collected by George Weston of Kidderminster and were given to Kidderminster Museum and Art gallery on his death in 1933.
On Sunday 1st April there is also a special event featuring performances by Taiko drummers, demonstrations of classical weaponry and jujutsu skills. On site throughout the day will be a restorer of Samurai swords with a collection of original weaponry and armour.
The event is free to attend and the popular Shambles café will be offering Asian food in keeping with the exhibition, which runs until 6th May.
